Most students are comfortable with computers and other technological devices. They are using cell phones and other mobile devices for communicating, creating, and practically seeing the world outside the classroom.Combining emerging technological tools with their natural curiosity and fascination with these devices will generate endless opportunities for engagement. Using emerging tools will develop skills that will be needed in a knowledge-based workplace.
I chose Microsoft Movie Maker as an attention-grabbing tool to make learning about history interesting and meaningful. I have chosen to use it with an Arkansas History Unit because it is a state requirement, the software is free, and it is available on all the computers in our school. This tutorial is designed to help teachers master the steps and procedures of creating a movie with Microsoft Movie Maker. Teachers can complete this tutorial in the library or one of three campus computer labs.
